Glass Laboratory Provides Solutions to Everyday Lab Problems

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 21 Jul 2015
A model "glass" laboratory shown at a recent congress on chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology was designed to explain typical applications and processes in the cell biology/bioprocess laboratory setting.

The glass laboratory formed the main section of the Eppendorf (Hamburg, Germany) exhibit presented at the June 2015 ACHEMA conference held in Frankfurt, Germany. More...
Eppendorf offered guided tours of the laboratory during which application experts explained typical applications and processes in the cell biology/bioprocess laboratory setting. In particular, experts gave tips on how to avoid contamination in the cell cultures as well as advice on how to reach homogeneous and reproducible cell growth.

Eppendorf develops and sells instruments, consumables, and services for liquid handling, sample handling, and cell handling in laboratories worldwide. Its product range includes pipettes and automated pipetting systems, dispensers, centrifuges, mixers, spectrometers, and DNA amplification equipment as well as ultra-low temperature freezers, fermentors, bioreactors, CO2 incubators, shakers, and cell manipulation systems.

"We have gained a deep understanding of different laboratory workflows through our close and long-established relationship with the scientific community," said Dr. Tanja Musiol, global project leader for workflows, cell handling procedures, and physiocare at Eppendorf. "To share this knowledge and deepen it further at the same time, we engage in a personal and application-oriented dialog with our customers on-site at the ACHEMA 2015 and talk about their requirements regarding processes and the daily routine at the laboratory."
