Automated Hemostasis System Helps Labs of All Sizes Optimize Workflow

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 27 Jan 2026

High-volume hemostasis sections must sustain rapid turnaround while managing reruns and reflex testing. More...

Manual tube handling and preanalytical checks can strain staff time and increase opportunities for error. Many coagulation departments also require flexible layouts that fit limited space without compromising throughput. A new system now addresses these workflow challenges with high-throughput automation and continuous loading.

Sysmex America has expanded its CN-Series with the CN-9000 Automated Hemostasis Solution, a high-throughput system designed to support continuous workflow in busy laboratories. Delivering up to 1,000 samples per hour, the platform combines continuous sample loading with automated rerun and reflex testing to maintain uninterrupted analysis. It can operate as a standalone solution or integrate with a compatible total laboratory automation (TLA) line.

Operational safeguards and automation features are central to the design, with closed-tube sampling, Preanalytical Sample Integrity (PSI) checks, and intelligent tube routing specified to minimize manual handling, reduce error risk, and improve productivity. The modular configuration supports up to three CN-3000 or CN-6000 Blood Coagulation Analyzers and can incorporate the optional Sysmex TS-10 Integrated Tube Sorter and Archiver. To accommodate space-constrained coagulation departments, the system can be configured with up to two turn unit modules that enable 90-degree direction changes.

“Sysmex America’s hemostasis solutions help labs keep up with growing testing demands,” said Dan Zortman, CEO of Sysmex America. “With the CN-Series, CN-9000, we’re giving labs a reliable, high-throughput, walkaway solution that makes daily operations easier and more efficient.”
