A new line of benchtop centrifuges was designed to provide exceptional capacity in a compact design with a smart, simple interface and the flexibility to support both clinical and research applications.

Sale of the new instrument was recently launched by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. More...
(Milford, MA, USA). The new line of centrifuges is highlighted by a particularly compact footprint, which conserves valuable laboratory bench space. Nonetheless, the instrument can accommodate eight 50 mL tubes, four microplates, or 30 filtration columns in a swinging bucket rotor. The "Auto-Lock" rotor exchange enables rotor replacement in less than three seconds while delivering trouble-free rotor installation and removal and clear chamber access for cleaning convenience.

The centrifuges are manufactured with quality materials providing broad chemical resistance with exceptional strength for durability and reliability. The instrument is controlled via an intuitive glove and detergent friendly interface with a bright backlit display, featuring one-touch operation with preset protocol options and optional password protection.

“Centrifuges are critical laboratory resources that are in constant use and demand. It is crucial to avoid bottlenecks in these lab workflows that could create unwanted downtime and negatively impact users’ work,” said Maurizio Merli, product director at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “With features designed to optimize simplicity, safety, and flexibility, the new Thermo Scientific small benchtop centrifuges can help scientists save time and maximize resources in busy labs and clinics.”
