全胆固醇测试可为代谢异常提供线索

该VAP测试是鉴定糖尿病的一种先兆——代谢综合征的唯一一种胆固醇测试。VAP扩展型血脂测试由Atherotech Diagnostics公司(Birmingham, AL, USA; www.atherotech.com)研发,可报告22种血液"胆固醇”成份,包括对非空腹直接LDL及脂蛋白所有子类的准确测量。

PCOS会增大心脏病、胰岛素耐受、糖尿病和某些癌症的风险。这也是育龄妇女最常见的代谢异常,美国全国范围内有500万到1000万妇女受此困扰。虽然没有单独的测试去诊断该疾病,但详细的血脂图谱却是有用的。PCOS的四种主要症状是月经不调、体重增加、睾丸激素水平高和代谢紊乱,包括胆固醇水平异常。结果显示,PCOS患者总胆固醇和甘油三酯的水平较高,而高密度脂蛋白2的水平较低——它是一种具有高度保护性的HDL亚型。
