Nikon Instruments Displays Latest Clinical Pathology Products at AACC 2022

Posted on 27 Jul 2022

Nikon Instruments (Melville, NY, USA) will be displaying its latest clinical pathology products, including digital pathology and remote slide viewing and sharing, at the 2022 AACC Clinical Lab Expo. More...

The Nikon exhibit booth will feature ECLIPSE Ci-E upright microscope with Digital Sight 10 camera alongside the ECLIPSE Ci-L plus upright microscope with DS-Fi3 camera and NIS-Elements L tablet. To meet the demands of clinical laboratory specialists and researchers, Nikon has reviewed all aspects of microscope usability to develop the ECLIPSE Ci series of microscopes, which combines superior functionality with operational ease. The Ci is designed to ensure natural posture while viewing images, sample changing and capturing images. Bright, eco-friendly LED illumination reduces the need for frequent lamp replacement. A variety of accessories are available that support various imaging techniques.

At AACC 2022, Nikon will showcase the NIS-Elements D imaging software and NIS-Elements BR imaging software. The NIS-Elements D software package is intended for photo-documentation, and includes basic measuring and reporting tools. The NIS-Elements BR Microscope imaging software is geared for acquisition and device control for standard research applications, requiring four-dimensional imaging. Developed for standard research applications such as analysis and photodocumentation of fluorescent imaging, NIS-Elements BR features up to four-dimensional acquisition and advanced device control capabilities.

Nikon is also displaying the D-LEDI Fluorescence LED Illumination System, a long-lasting, multi-color light source for fluorescence observation. It is equipped with four LEDs (385 nm, 475 nm, 550 nm and 621 nm) to support commonly used fluorophores in fluorescence applications. The D-LEDI features a natural cooling system without the use of fans. This new design ensures a vibration-free, stable illumination source for all fluorescence imaging needs. Traditional mercury light sources require frequent lamp replacement. The D-LEDI features long-life LEDs (up to 20,000-hours) that eliminate this need.
