Eurobio Scientific Completes Acquisition of CareDx Lab Products Division

Posted on 06 Jul 2026

Eurobio Scientific has closed the acquisition of CareDx AB in Sweden and its fully owned subsidiaries in the United States and Australia that constitute CareDx’s Lab Products division. More...

The business will be combined with Eurobio Scientific affiliate GenDx, which has expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays, software, and a global commercial footprint. Together, the entities aim to build a provider of kits for genomic typing and transplantation diagnostics.

The combined offering spans the transplantation in vitro diagnostics (IVD) workflow from pre-transplant human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing to post-transplant monitoring solutions. It integrates molecular assays, reagents, and software, bringing together CareDx’s HLA typing kits—including real-time PCR and NGS-based solutions—with GenDx’s NGS assays and software platforms. Technology synergies are expected to accelerate innovation in high-resolution HLA typing, hybrid capture, and transplantation monitoring workflows.

The integration strengthens GenDx’s presence in key markets, including the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, while enhancing service to both research and clinical laboratories. Expanded distribution capabilities and customer access across major transplantation markets are emphasized alongside opportunities to streamline manufacturing and supply chain operations. Eurobio Scientific purchased the Lab Products business for approximately €145 million (about $170 million) in cash after customary adjustments, aligning with plans for deeper capabilities, larger scale, and a 100% proprietary products portfolio as it advances its IVD leadership strategy.

“We are happy for the opportunity to close this transaction ahead of schedule and start the journey together with our team and new members towards our mission to advance precision medicine in transplantation. We aim at delivering comprehensive solutions and continued innovation to all our customers and contribute to our patient quality of life,” said Denis Fortier, CEO of Eurobio Scientific.

“We are pleased to complete this transaction and believe the Lab Products portfolio is well positioned under Eurobio Scientific’s ownership and global IVD platform,” added John Hanna, CEO of CareDx.
