Posted on 17 Aug 2004
An agreement with a government-owned facility in China will allow some assembly there of the VScan test kits of Medical Services International, Inc. More...
(Edmonton, Canada), according to an announcement by the company.

The agreement covers the company's VScan HIV and VScan tuberculosis (TB) tests. The facility is a GMP (good manufacturing practice) certified facility with an excellent quality assurance program, states Medical Services International. Also, the facility has 26 existing distributors and 3,000 direct sales outlets. In addition, it supplies 100 hospitals with medical supplies, providing Medical Services with a good distribution network.

Medical Services International has recently announced it is about to begin testing of the VScan TB test in the United States. The test gives no false-positives (100% specificity) and during independent testing showed an accuracy of more than 90%. The results are obtained in 10 minutes, so treatment can begin right away.

The company said it looks forward to having a partner who is very familiar with the requirements necessary to market its products in China, and anticipates significant results from its partnership.
