一种手机上的低成本便携实验室日前开发成功,它检测常见病毒与细菌感染的效果可媲美临床实验室。这项工作可能以更低成本更快产生迅速蔓延的病毒性和细菌性流行病的化验结果。
 
美国华盛顿州普尔曼市华盛顿州立大学(https://wsu.edu)的生物工程师及其同行开发了一种超低成本、临床结果准确的手机酶标仪(mReader),并针对12种传染病检验确证了这只光学器件。mReader一次用激光读取微孔板上的96份样本。开发小组用12种血清测定检验了771份隐去身份的病人样本的细菌/病毒感染。mReader与临床仪器在互不知情的情况下同时识读和分析所有的样本。
 
科学家将mReader与临床化验结果做了比较,评估了其在各临床类型方面的分析准确度和诊断性能。mReader表现出97.6%到99.9%的分析准确度,变异系数(CV) <5%。12种检验的阳性百分比符合率(PPA)都达到100%,除一种检验的阴性百分比符合率(NPA)为42.9%外,其余皆高于83%,总体百分比符合率(OPA)的范围是89.3%到100%。科研小组成功地花50美元左右的成本搭起了该器件,但是制造成本很可能更低。
 
该研究的论文发表于2018年3月23日的《Clinica Chimica Acta》杂志。作者们预测,mReader能以低成本造福未享受到优良服务的地区/人群以及乡村诊所/医院的资源不足场合,且能达到临床级的质量。它有望普及医疗服务,加速医疗服务的供给,通过采用一种低成本分光光度计减小医疗水平和教育水平的差距。
