To make up for its physical absence at the hybrid EUROMEDLAB 2022 event, Beckman Coulter, Inc. (Brea, CA, USA) presented its instruments and workflow solutions for laboratories of all sizes through its immersive, 3D virtual product showcase.

Beckman Coulter’s virtual showcase displayed its line of instruments and automation specially designed to elevate the performance of low, medium, and high-volume laboratories. This included the DxA 5000 Fit workflow automation system that fundamentally improves lab workflow by making intelligent automation accessible to fit the needs of small- and mid-sized labs. The DxA 5000 Fit drives speed and accuracy, all while maintaining a small footprint. It eliminates up to 80% of the manual steps associated with processing a patient sample, allowing labs to keep their focus on what matters most: patient care. The DxA 5000 Fit can be designed in unique configurations that allow the automation system to fit any lab’s needs. With flexible line customization and a compact footprint, the DxA 5000 Fit can accommodate different workloads and footprints while optimizing laboratory space.

Beckman Coulter’s virtual showcase also included the DxU Iris Workcell fully automated system that streamlines urinalysis workflow and reduces manual reviews to 4%. The DxU Iris Workcell pairs the DxU 850m Iris or DxU 840m Iris urine microscopy analyzer with the Arkray AUTION MAX 4030 urine chemistry analyzer to create a scalable, fully automated urinalysis solution. The workcell was developed with proprietary Digital Flow Morphology technology with Auto-Particle Recognition (APR) Software to enable laboratories to deliver standardized results using artificial intelligence (AI). This industry-leading technology isolates, identifies, and characterizes urine particles to provide immediate, accurate, and reproducible results verified directly on the screen.

Also on display at Beckman Coulter’s virtual showcase was the DxH 560 AL hematology analyzer that helps save time and resources, eliminate manual intervention and deliver high-quality results, even for difficult-draw patient groups. The multi-tube, compact hematology analyzer allows labs to load and go up to 50 samples with on-the-fly continuous loading more than twice the capacity compared to the closest competitor. Among others, Beckman Coulter provided a glimpse of its MicroScan microbiology solutions in 3D that provide first-time accuracy with direct MIC for trusted detection of emerging and critical antimicrobial resistance. The company displayed its microbiology panels, systems and analyzers that can improve workflow by automating and standardizing all core aspects of specimen processing for even the most challenging samples. Viewers experienced how patient care can be enhanced with direct MIC methods to provide trusted detection of emerging and critical antimicrobial resistance, while organizing data and managing results with the company’s easy-to-use LabPro software suite.
