Benchtop Analyzer Designed for Routine Clinical Chemistry Testing

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 03 Aug 2011
A fully automated, compact, random access chemistry analyzer for use in small laboratory settings is an easy to use, cost-effective system

Dubbed Indiko, the analyzer is designed for routine clinical chemistry testing and specialty testing such as specific proteins, drug of abuse testing, and therapeutic drug monitoring including immunosuppressant drug monitoring (ISD).

A mix of barcoded primary tubes and sample cups can be used at any time, increasing the flexibility of operation. More...
Patient oriented testing produces results quickly thus enhancing the quality of patient care.

Features of Indiko include advanced dilution management and real-time monitoring of reagent usage, which help to manage a daily workload. Samples, reagents, and consumables can continuously be loaded without interrupting the testing process, and different sample types can be analyzed at the same time. A real-time QC program with multiple Westgard Rules assures the reliable performance. Application data as well as calibrator and control values are loadable from a file or from a two-dimensional barcode by the barcode scanner.

The test flow definition allows for up to four reagent additions in each test, offering automation even for the most complex methods. The cuvette design supports low reagent volumes thus reducing operating costs, especially important when working with specialty tests.

Thermo Fisher Scientific (Waltham, MA, USA) introduced Indiko during the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) 2011 conference, which was held from July 26-28, 2011, at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta (GA, USA). The analyzer has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA; Silver Spring, MD, USA) clearance.

Additional information about the Indiko analyzer may be found online (please see Related Links below).
