β-2微球蛋白水平升高与中风风险增大相关

研究者检测473例病历确证的缺血性中风病例和473例对照者的B2M水平,按照年龄、种族、采血日期、绝经状态、绝经后激素使用和吸烟状态以1:1的比例匹配病例组和对照组。受试者是平均年龄为61岁的女性,他们没有中风史和癌症史,1989年至1990年间提供了血液样品。研究参与者每两年完成一次生活方式和病史相关问卷。研究者使用多因素条件logistic回归对传统中风风险因素进行调整,分析了B2M和缺血性中风的相关性。
结果揭示,此后发生缺血性中风的参与者β-2微球蛋白水平高于此后未发生中风的参与者。有缺血性中风的参与者蛋白质平均水平为1.86mg/L,相比之下,没有中风的参与者蛋白质平均水平为1.80mg/L。β-2微球蛋白水平最高的四分之一参与者发生中风的可能性比最低四分之一参与者大56%。283名β-2微球蛋白水平最高的四分之一女性中,163名女性有中风,相比之下,227名水平最低的四分之一女性中,106名女性有中风。
“近期多项研究发现β-2微球蛋白与心脏病相关,”第一作者Pamela Rist博士说,他是哈佛医学院医学与流行病学讲师。“但是,对β-2微球蛋白与缺血性中风的关系知之甚少。鉴于中风致残的发生率高,发现患上此疾病风险更高的人就很重要。该蛋白质可能是帮助我们对抗中风的一种标志物。需要开展更多研究,确定是否可通过改变生活方式调整β-2微球蛋白的水平。”
