Kits Measure Relative Abundance of Proteins in Serum

Two biomarker array kits measure the relative abundance of proteins in serum. More...

The APiX glycobiomarker array kit provides a new and unique method for multiplex profiling of glycan patterns on serum glycoproteins. The kit contains an antibody array engineered to capture specific proteins of interest from serum samples and to detect specific glycan structures using biotinylated lectins. The immobilized capture antibodies (>40 total proteins) are chemically derivitized to prevent assay interference due to lectin binding to glycans on the antibodies.

The glycobiomarker kit was designed to detect subtle changes in glycan patterns in undifferentiated and unregulated cell proliferation. Applications of the APiX GlycoBiomarker Array Kit include characterization of disease-associated glycan alterations, identification of new biomarkers, and analysis of factors that regulate glycan structures.

The APiX 1-color cancer biomarker-array kit simultaneously measures the relative abundance of 46 cancer-related proteins in eight serum samples. The single-capture antibody microarray and protein labeling system is validated to show the detectable and specific capture of target proteins in serum. Results are accurate and reliable. Analysis of serum and plasma samples is cost-effective for serum and plasma profiling, biomarker discovery, and preclinical analysis. The kit includes a preprinted array and labeling reagents and is compatible with standard microarray scanners

The kits are products of Gentel Biosciences (Madison, WI, USA), a protein microarray company whose aim is to deliver new standards in discovery, medical care, and public safety.
