Compact Generation Flow Cytometers Offer Total Workflow Solution

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 30 Jul 2009
Compact, affordable flow cytometers offer a total workflow solution that will include optimized reagent kits for clinical and life science applications, as well as in-field service. More...
The new flow cytometers will permit laboratory personnel to conduct analyses at their benchtops.

The new guava easyCyteT 8HT flow cytometry system is a compact, six-color detection system with 96-well automation. Six targets and eight parameters can be simultaneously analyzed in a single sample of cells. The system allows freedom to choose fluorescent dyes with well-separated emission spectra, which reduces the chance of overlap in the resulting signals and improves data quality.

The easyCyte 8HT system utilizes microcapillary technology that reduces the number of cells needed for analysis and the amount of waste generated--from liters per day with traditional approaches to less than 50 mL per day. Elimination of complicated fluidics gives the instrument a small footprint and dramatically decreases user maintenance.

The InCyte software allows investigators to view, compare, and analyze up to eight data sets simultaneously. This means that entire plates of data can be analyzed in less time than it currently takes to analyze data from a single sample using traditional software.

The new generation Guava easyCyteT 8HT flow cytometry system was launched by Millipore Corp. (Billerica, MA, USA) a provider of technologies, tools, and services for the global life science industry. It is the first instrument introduced by Millipore since its acquisition of Guava Technologies, a provider of benchtop flow cytometers, in February 2009.
