BD is highlighting preanalytical specimen management technologies and support services at ADLM 2026, held July 26–30 in Anaheim, California. More...

At booth 2035, visitors can explore solutions designed to improve specimen quality and support evolving laboratory collection and processing needs.

The company’s exhibit focuses on preanalytical solutions for venous blood collection, urine collection, and blood gas analysis. These offerings are intended to help laboratories manage the critical steps that occur before testing and reduce variables that can affect the quality and reliability of diagnostic results.

BD is also presenting cell and biomarker preservation products intended to protect specimens between collection and analysis. Live demonstrations of the BD Learning Academy show how laboratories and healthcare professionals can access training resources, while an interactive station examines the future of specimen collection.

As part of its ADLM participation, BD is sponsoring the symposium “Quality in, Clarity Out: Improving Urine Culture Performance Through Multidisciplinary Interventions” on July 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Theater 3. The session examines a phased, multi-hospital study of strategies to reduce urine culture contamination, improve test quality, and support diagnostic stewardship.

The presentation also explores collaboration among clinical laboratories, frontline care teams, and industry partners. Data from the BD HealthSight MedMined database are used to evaluate outcomes before and after the interventions across multiple hospitals, including changes in antimicrobial use and Clostridioides difficile infection rates.

BD is additionally presenting two posters on July 28. One evaluates the within-tube stability of BD Vacutainer Rapid Serum Tubes for selected chemistry analytes and cardiac markers, while the second reviews urinalysis reflex-to-culture strategies and their impact on urine culture diagnostic stewardship and clinical outcomes.

Mathematical Biomarkers Use Routine Blood Tests to Guide Adaptive Prostate Cancer Therapy

Personalizing systemic therapy for prostate cancer remains challenging because tumors can evolve under treatment pressure, driving resistance and early relapse. Continuous high-dose regimens may initially... Read more

New Liquid Biopsy Workflow Maximizes Tumor Signals from Limited Blood Samples

Liquid biopsy seeks to detect tumor-derived signals from small blood samples, but circulating cell-free DNA is scarce and heterogeneous, limiting sensitivity. Combining complementary signals such as methylation,... Read more
