Helena Laboratories Showcases Electrophoresis and Hemostasis Solutions

Helena Laboratories (Beaumont, TX, USA) is showcasing clinical laboratory technologies at ADLM 2026 in Anaheim, California. More...

At booth 1515, the company is highlighting capillary and gel electrophoresis systems, point-of-care hemostasis solutions, and laboratory plastics from Labcon.

A central feature of the exhibit is the new V8 UltraCE, a next-generation capillary electrophoresis analyzer designed to provide faster, more connected, and flexible workflows. The system incorporates accelerated capillary technology, connectivity with laboratory automation tracks, and an integrated workflow that enables laboratories to reflex selected samples to gel electrophoresis.

The V8 UltraCE uses a precision horseshoe-shaped capillary array with active cooling to help prevent sample degradation. Its Nanocell Technology combines shorter, narrower capillaries with enhanced signal detection to improve throughput and analytical precision, while integrated cap-piercing and needle-washing features help reduce manual handling and cross-contamination. The system is currently under FDA premarket review and is not available for sale in the United States.

Helena is also presenting the SPIFE Nexus, a fully automated gel electrophoresis platform for serum protein, immunofixation, hemoglobin, and other assays. After samples and supplies are loaded, the system automates sample application, electrophoresis, staining, washing, drying, scanning, and reporting, reducing technologist involvement during routine testing.

The SPIFE Nexus supports up to 15 immunofixation profiles and incorporates automated antisera dispensing with a temperature-controlled reagent compartment. Assay-specific QR codes provide automated pre-run checks, while QuickScan Touch Plus software connects current gel and capillary electrophoresis findings with historical patient results for remote interpretation and integrated reporting.

For point-of-care hemostasis, Helena is featuring Plateletworks for measuring functional platelet counts and platelet aggregation or inhibition using standard agonists. The company is also highlighting Actalyke activated clotting time analyzers and MAX-ACT tubes for monitoring heparin dosing during procedures requiring anticoagulation.

Completing the showcase are disposable laboratory plastics from Labcon. Together, Helena’s ADLM 2026 offerings demonstrate technologies designed to increase laboratory automation, support reliable electrophoresis and hemostasis testing, and improve efficiency across routine clinical workflows.
