EKF Diagnostics Showcases Advanced Point-of-Care and Connectivity Technologies

Clinical laboratories and near‑patient providers need rapid, reliable measurement of hemoglobin, HbA1c, glucose, and lactate, alongside secure device connectivity to support timely decisions. More...

EKF Diagnostics is showcasing point‑of‑care (POC) and integration technologies addressing these needs at MEDICA 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

At Hall 3, Booth B69, EKF is presenting a portfolio spanning handheld and desktop analyzers and connectivity software for clinical and near‑patient use. The lineup includes the DiaSpect Tm handheld hemoglobin analyzer, which is ideal for use in any blood screening setting, even in challenging climatic and remote environments. DiaSpect Tm’s proven technology provides laboratory-quality results in just one second and transfers the test result data via Bluetooth or wired connection to EKF Link in real time.

Also being showcased is Hemo Control, a POC hemoglobin analyzer with hematocrit estimation designed to deliver fast, reliable results across a wide range of healthcare settings. Hemo Control uses the most established photometric azide methemoglobin method, ensuring reliable results with a high precision (CV <2%). It is used in blood banks, hospitals, and doctors’ offices for routine POC anemia screening.

For diabetes care, EKF is featuring the Biosen C‑Line for glucose and lactate measurement in laboratories, sports medicine, and diabetes clinics. Biosen uses special chip-sensor technology to deliver rapid, high-accuracy results at a low cost per test. The long lifespan of the sensor chip keeps maintenance to a minimum, while features such as the color touchscreen and large memory further enhance the analyzer’s user-friendliness. The Biosen series of glucose analyzers includes two models: the Biosen C-Line Clinic and the Biosen C-Line GP+.

Also on display is the Quo-Test fully automated desktop analyzer that provides easy and reliable HbA1c measurement for the monitoring and management of diabetes in a point-of-care setting. The Quo-Test HbA1c system uses patented boronate affinity fluorescence quenching technology to measure glycated hemoglobin from just 4 μl of capillary or venous whole blood. Sample results are available within four minutes and are dual-reported in IFCC and DCCT standard units, with Mono S and JDS reporting also available.

Complementing the analyzers is EKF Link, a powerful middleware solution that centralizes data management for POC analyzers on a single platform. This flexible, open data-management solution integrates seamlessly with most vendors’ POC devices, allowing real-time management of patient test results, quality control (QC) data, operator management, and analyzer configuration. Its adaptability and ease of use make EKF Link a valuable connectivity solution for hospitals, laboratories, blood banks, pharmacies, and general practitioners (GPs).
