Fully Automated Analyzer Has Multiplex Capabilities

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 16 Aug 2010
A state of the art analyzer offers complete consolidation of the patient's profile for clinical diagnostics. More...

The new advanced machine uses Biochip Array Technology and is capable of testing for multiple analytes simultaneously from a single sample, providing advanced test compilation, and patient profiling.

The Evidence Evolution analyzer provides limitless capabilities enabling simultaneous testing from a single small volume sample. A complete profile of biomarkers can be analyzed from as little as 7.0 µL of sample and the assay menu is extensive. The Evidence Evolution has the ability to process 2,940 tests per hour.

The analyzer was unveiled by Randox Laboratories Ltd. (Crumlin, UK), at the American Association Clinical Chemistry's Clinical Lab Expo in Anaheim (CA, USA) in July 2010. Multiplex testing allows multiple tests to be carried out from an undivided patient sample reducing the amount of time and labor spent on individual tests. True Random Access allows continuous reagents samples and consumable input and output without interrupting testing and batch samples are processed with instant STAT capabilities. The highly accurate testing is achieved by the use of linear Bio-drive Robotics, which delivers fast and highly precise operations with uncompromised quality. The unrivalled mechanical capabilities ensure continuous flow of results.

The array menus include clinical, immunoassays, molecular diagnostics, toxicology, and drug residue assays. The Evidence Evolution is suitable for clinical laboratories with medium to high throughput. The measurement principle is based on chemiluminescence with a 200-biochip capacity yielding up to 9,800 tests containing up to 20 different panels onboard simultaneously. The system also hosts high quality and highly secure remote access diagnostics, ensuring advanced technical support is never more than a click away.
