New Microscopes Provide Quality Images Under Harsh Conditions

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 25 Jan 2012
A major European microscope manufacturer has unveiled two new models developed specifically for routine or educational use.

Olympus (Hamburg, Germany) has released their new CX22 microscopes for routine and educational microscopy. More...
The CX22 is available in two versions with different types of light source.

The CX22HAL educational microscope with halogen illumination offers consistent performance for biological and medical applications. In addition, the infinity corrected Plan objectives give sharp high-contrast images throughout the field of view. The CX22HAL is an attractively priced choice for the educational market, retaining design, and engineering quality.

The CX22LED clinical microscope with built-in light emitting diode (LED) illumination offers consistent long-term performance for biological and medical applications. This cost-effective imaging system can illuminate samples with a similar light intensity to that provided by halogen bulbs. Furthermore, the LED light source produces a more uniform, controllable, and stable illumination for high-quality imaging.

The Olympus CX22 series has been designed to deliver on-going performance, even in harsh environments and under rigorous use, whether used for teaching or routine microscopy. Both microscopes have the added benefit of employing objectives, eyepieces, and observation tubes that have undergone antifungus treatment, of particular importance when the microscopes are used in hot humid environments.
