Collaboration Links PCR Microarrays with Dedicated-Analysis System

Posted on 13 Apr 2010
Researchers who use real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for genetic analyses will benefit from the collaboration that links a recognized leader in PCR-microarray manufacture to a dedicated integrated-analysis system.

SABiosciences Corporation (Frederick, MD, USA) will be working to produce over 100 pathway-focused gene-expression PCR microarray kits for use on the Fluidigm Corporation (San Francisco, CA, USA) BioMark integrated fluidic-circuits analysis system.

Each reagent kit--to be marketed under the name RT2 Profiler PCR Arrays--will include predispensed reagents and primers needed for synthesizing first-strand cDNA (complementary DNA) ready for preamplification and pathway-focused analysis. More...

"SABiosciences offers real-time PCR Arrays that are the most reliable and sensitive gene expression profiling technology for analyzing a focused panel of genes, and now gain the additional benefits of Fluidigm's genetic analysis technology,” said Dr. Shankar Sellappan, PCR-array product manager at SABiosciences.

"SABiosciences solutions focusing on the analysis of pathways with real time assay panel kits are an excellent fit to our products. The kits include 96 cataloged gene expression assays, targeting genes in signal transduction, biological process, and disease-related pathways. The kits can provide a great solution for customers looking to lower start up costs, or that need prevalidated pathways for a new project,” said Mike Lee, senior director of marketing at Fluidigm.
