Research informatics company Dotmatics, Ltd. More...
(Bishop's Stortford, UK) has been selected by FujiFilm Imaging Colorants, Ltd. (FujiFilm; Tokyo, Japan) to provide data visualization solutions (Vortex) for their research teams. Dotmatics Vortex was selected to facilitate all the research data visualization required by FujiFilm. Dotmatics and FujiFilm have entered into a strategic relationship to develop Vortex further.

Paul Wight, research associate at FujiFilm said, "We are very happy to be working with Dotmatics who provided an excellent and responsive service throughout our evaluation. A key point for us in product and service purchases is flexibility and Dotmatics proved extremely helpful in the way they sell and service their offering, making the selection decision an easy one.”

Steve Gallagher, CEO at Dotmatics, said, "We are pleased to be working with FujiFilm and providing Vortex to meet all their data visualization needs. We look forward to developing Vortex with FujiFilm to keep up-to-date with their innovative research requirements.”

Dotmatics' Vortex has the following advantages: Chemically aware out of the box, including structure depiction and searching; easy to customize with Python scripting; superior quality charting and analysis; import files (i.e., sdf, xls, CSV) or pull data from databases and web services; support for Windows, Mac, and Linux; and direct export to Microsoft PowerPoint.

Dotmatics is a scientific software company deploying web-based knowledge solutions that dramatically improve the way scientific data is queried, browsed, managed, shared, and visualized within companies. Dotmatics has significant expertise in cheminformatics techniques including chemical databases, structure-activity relationships (SAR) analysis, data management, and data visualization.

The Dotmatics suite includes Browser--a query and visualization tool for biologic and chemical datasets; Pinpoint--an Oracle cartridge allowing rapid indexing and searching of chemical databases; Gateway--a centralized depot for sharing information with colleagues and external collaborators; Nucleus--a web-based tool for importing, mapping, and storing data from existing sources; Register--a web-based tool for single and batch compound registration; and Vortex--an advanced visualization and analytics tool for scientific and nonscientific data. Pinpoint is developed in collaboration with Astex Therapeutics, Ltd. (Cambridge, UK).
