By Biotechdaily staff writers
Posted on 14 Jul 2008
Flow cytometry is a powerful method used to measure cell numbers, cell viability, programmed cell death (apoptosis), cell division, toxicity, and the differential expression of specific proteins that help scientists to understand the biology of embryonic development, cancer, metabolic and degenerative diseases, drug effects, and aging.

Millipore Corp. More...
(Billerica, MA, USA) announced the availability of a range of assays, kits, flow cytometry systems, and service plans as part of its range of products. Millipore and Guava Technologies, Inc. (Hayward, CA, USA) entered into a long-term partnership in March 2008, to deliver optimized benchtop flow cytometry products and services to cell biologists, including stem cell scientists, at academic and government institutions, as well as biotechnology and pharmaceutic companies.

All Guava assays, kits, and systems for flow cytometry that are included in the partnership are now available from Millipore to academic and government laboratories worldwide, and to pharmaceutic and biotech labs outside Europe and North America. Guava Technologies retains exclusive rights to all of its products for biotechnology and pharmaceutic laboratories within Europe and North America. Millipore is the sole service provider for Guava flow cytometry instruments for all organizations worldwide.
