Three siRNA Array Kits Now Available

By Biotechdaily staff writers
Posted on 05 Apr 2004
A new research tool that utilizes the inhibition of gene expression by siRNA (small interfering RNA) has been developed. More...
So far three siRNA array plates are available: human caspase, human NFkB, and human cell cycle I.

The manufacturer, SuperArray Bioscience Corp. (Frederick, MD, USA; www.superarray.com), states that each siRNA array plate includes validated siRNAs for six related, pathway-specific genes on one six-well plate with a unique reverse-transfection agent. Fifteen minutes of hands-on time is required to effectively knock down the expression of six pathway-specific genes in cultured, adherent cells. Positive and negative controls are included on separate control plates. The six siRNAs on each plate have been functionally proven to decrease target mRNA levels by 70%.

"The inclusion of validated siRNAs for six closely related genes, a time-saving reverse-transfection agent, and controls in one kit make the siRNA Array Plate the most efficient and convenient RNAi tool yet developed,” stated Dr. James Liu, Sr., product manager at SuperArray Bioscience.
