High-Throughput Automated Platform to Advance Latent Tuberculosis Testing

High-volume laboratories must deliver accurate first-pass results while managing heavy sample loads to support timely care. A newly developed high-throughput platform now targets these operational demands by bringing greater automation to latent tuberculosis testing.

Revvity has announced the development of the T-SPOT A201, a next-generation automated platform designed to support the performance advantages of the T-SPOT.TB test for large-volume clinical laboratories. Built on the Auto-Pure 2400 liquid handler, the system is engineered as an accessible, scalable, and efficient solution for latent tuberculosis testing at scale. It is intended to deliver a reliable, accurate workflow aligned to the established characteristics of the T-SPOT.TB assay.

The T-SPOT A201 is configured for high-throughput operations and streamlined sample processing. Each instrument can process up to 384 samples in an eight-hour shift with approximately 45 seconds of hands-on time per sample, described as the lowest of any T-SPOT automation solution. The platform aims to help laboratories standardize and scale testing while minimizing manual steps and technician time.

The platform is currently under development and not yet available for sale. It is targeted for launch in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval, with additional studies on the performance of the company’s automation solutions expected in the coming months. Revvity’s Euroimmun business will showcase its latest automation solutions at the ADLM 2026 conference in Anaheim, California, from July 26–30, including a T-SPOT.TB breakfast workshop on July 28 at booth 1411.

By building on a proven liquid-handling architecture and focusing on end-to-end workflow automation, the T-SPOT A201 is positioned to meet the throughput requirements of large-scale testing environments. The platform is intended to give laboratories the scalability and workflow advantages associated with automated T-SPOT.TB testing. It is also presented as a reinforcement of the company’s broader automation portfolio to support a range of throughput needs.
