The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This will allow Quest to refocus its resources on its core diagnostic information services business for physicians and hospitals.

Since 2008, Access Genetics has provided support and expertise for OralDNA-based testing services for dental professionals. As part of the transaction, OralDNA's testing services, now provided from a facility in Brentwood, TN (USA) will consolidate under Access Genetic's Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP)-certified laboratory in Eden Prairie, MN (USA).

Quest Diagnostics offers broad access to diagnostic information services through its network of laboratories and patient service centers, and provides consultation services through its medical and scientific staff.

Access Genetics provides web-based software, laboratory materials, and networked expertise to improve molecular diagnostics and patient care. The company offers comprehensive solutions to physicians including pathologists, and clinical laboratories for molecular (DNA-based) testing through a web-based Molecular Information System (TeleGene).
