COPD最重要的致病原因是吸烟,但既往暴露于烟雾、化学物质和粉尘也可能引发此疾病。常常到肺部发生明显的损伤才会出现COPD症状,COPD的症状常随着时间的延长而加重,持续吸烟者尤其如此。COPD的其他体征和症状可能包括气短(做体育活动时尤为明显),气喘、胸闷和可能产生黏液的久咳。
