Greiner Bio-One Introduces Next Generation Urine Diagnostics

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 29 Jul 2025

Greiner Bio-One (Kremsmünster, Austria) is exhibiting its latest advancements at ADLM 2025, which also marks the debut of its new urinalysis tube that offers room-temperature sample stability up to 72 hours. More...

At ADLM 2025, Greiner Bio-One will debut the VACUETTE Urine STB tube, which offers a standardized solution to ensure the stability of urinalysis samples by ensuring sample integrity. The all-new VACUETTE Urine STB Tube stabilizes key parameters for dipstick testing, clinical chemistry, and urine sediment analysis for up to 72 hours without refrigeration. VACUETTE Urine STB tubes contain a preservative made up of ethylparaben, chlorhexidine, and sodium propionate to inhibit bacterial and yeast growth and ensure the reliability of urinalysis results. This means a slow or delayed processing time during transport and storage will not affect the sample when it comes to sample quality and reliable analysis results, preventing the risk of preanalytical errors. The vacuum in the tube enables the optimal ratio of specimen sample to preservative. The tubes are available with a round or conical bottom for easier manual processing of the urinary sediment for microscopy analysis.

Greiner Bio-One is also sponsoring an Industry Workshop presented by Prof. Ana-Maria Simundic on the value that labs can deliver through patient blood management. Hospitalized patients are at high risk for developing hospital-acquired anemia (HAA). This session will focus on the methods labs may use to minimize patient blood loss and reduce HAA risk. Attendees will learn about the current landscape of patient blood management, explore available strategies and tools for minimizing patient blood loss, and discover possible benefits that may be achieved by implementing patient blood management interventions.
