Nucleic Acid Purification System Suitable for Clinical Labs

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 15 Aug 2012
An in vitro diagnostic (IVD) system purifies nucleic acids from up to 96 clinical samples in less than 60 minutes.

Called MagNA Pure 96, the CE certified system was launched by Roche (Penzberg, Germany) for automated sample preparation. More...
The system was designed to be suitable for use in clinical laboratories for diagnostic purposes. The IVD version of MagNA Pure 96 has already been introduced in the US.

The MagNA Pure 96 System provides ready-to-use reagents and uses a minimal number of consumables. It can purify nucleic acids from a wide spectrum of human samples. The system provides laboratory information management system (LIMS) connectivity for safe and convenient data transfer. This ensures data integrity and avoids redundant data handling

The MagNA Pure 96 System purifies DNA, RNA, and viral nucleic acids from a wide variety of starting materials using the magnetic glass particle technology developed by Roche. Preprogrammed software protocols are tailored to sample requirements and yield high-purity nucleic acids that are ideal for a broad range of downstream applications.

Hands-on time is reduced by using bar-coded prefilled reagent trays with ready-to-use reagents, disposables, intuitive software, and optimized preprogrammed purification protocols.
