Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer Offers Sensitivity and Speed

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 08 Aug 2012
A high-end liquid chromatography mass spectrometer (LCMS) that is sensitive, rapid, and accurate has been launched.

The new model, LCMS-8080 is an extension of the Ultra Fast Mass Spectrometry (UFMS) range. More...
Its high speed capabilities will increase productivity in the laboratory by delivering accurate measurements, first time.

The new model can be used for a wide range of applications including clinical, environmental, and ADME laboratories, food safety testing, and drugs of abuse screening. The LCMS-8080’s sensitivity allows accurate quantitation of low level analytes.

The Coaxial Hot Gas Desolvation source is essential for the LCMS-8080’s sensitivity because it focuses the ion plume and improves ionization efficiency.

The model's compact footprint frees up the use of costly lab space, while its robust characteristics increase uptime by reducing instrument down time.

The liquid chromatography mass spectrometer is product of Shimadzu (Milton Keynes, UK). The MS-8080 can be rapidly installed using prepackaged methods. This means that individual components can easily be reused when new methods have been developed.

The LCMS-8080 is compatible with Nexera Ultra High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) which offers high carryover specifications and the highest pressure rating of any UHPLC. The high end instrument delivers stability and reliability in data acquisition, even when rapidly switching the ionization polarity.
