Refrigerated Bench-Top Bath Eliminates Need for Costly Consumables

Posted on 01 Dec 2009
A mechanically refrigerated bench-top bath eliminates the need for costly consumables such as liquid nitrogen and dry ice.

The compact and completely self-contained Multi-Cool bath provides up to eight liters of working fluid volume at temperatures between –80 °C and +100 °C. More...
The low temperature bath uses PID control enabling precise temperature control to within ±0.1 °C.

At the bottom of the FTS Multi-Cool bath there is a high speed magnetic stirrer that provides excellent temperature uniformity and stability for applications such as snap freezing of tissues and cells, Charpy impact testing, controlled temperature reactions, pour-point determinations, and viscosity studies. An RS232 interface allows control of the Multi-Cool as well as data collection from a remote location if required.

The FTS Multi-Cool bath is a product of SP Industries, Inc. (Stone Ridge, NY, USA), a manufacturer of laboratory to production scale freeze dryers/lyophilizers, centrifugal evaporators and concentrators, and environmental control products. The company also manufactures specialty glassware and equipment serving the pharmaceutic, biotechnology, educational, industrial, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) markets.
