New Collaboration Expands Point-of-Care Testing Across UK Community Pharmacies

HealthTab, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avricore Health, has entered a formal collaboration agreement with Abbott to supply and distribute Abbott’s point-of-care testing products in the UK through the HealthTab platform. More...

Under the agreement, HealthTab will distribute the Abbott Afinion 2 Analyzer to National Health Service (NHS)-linked pharmacies for hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and lipid profile testing. The collaboration also establishes a framework for expanding point-of-care testing services across community pharmacy networks.

HealthTab provides a turnkey solution for pharmacy-based testing programs that includes instruments, consumables, onboarding, training, and ongoing support. At the center of the offering is a secure cloud platform that connects point-of-care analyzers with patient results, quality control data, and pharmacist workflows, creating a unified digital infrastructure across participating locations. The platform is designed to support quality-assured testing, standardized data capture, and real-time analytics for public health reporting and performance monitoring, while reducing implementation complexity for pharmacy partners.

To support analytical performance and reliability, HealthTab partners with CEQAL Inc., a reference method laboratory and member of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Cholesterol Reference Method Laboratory Network. The quality program mirrors accredited clinical laboratories through centralized lot monitoring of reagents, mandated internal quality control, and regular external quality‑assessment events. These measures help ensure results generated across participating pharmacies are accurate, traceable, and consistent with internationally recognized reference standards.

“This agreement represents our most significant milestone to date,” said Rodger Seccombe, CEO of Avricore Health. “We’ve spent fifteen years building and proving the model for pharmacy-based point-of-care testing, and we’ve learned that solving this problem takes more than great technology — it takes an industry-leading partner willing to invest the people, expertise, and resources needed to make it successful. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to be working with, and together we’re going to make a real impact on patient care.”
