A healthcare industry supplier has been chosen by a large Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to provide immunoassay, chemistry, automation, and urinalysis systems. More...

Premier, Inc. (San Diego, CA, USA) selected Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics (Munich, Germany) to provide Integrated and Urinalysis Solutions. The agreement is part of Premier's recently issued Core Lab segment, which sought solution providers in six separate bid categories.

Hospitals in Premier's alliance will utilize the full line of Advia chemistry systems; the full line of immunoassay systems; and automation systems such as Advia workcell and Advia labcell. The Advia 1800 chemistry system will enable labs to perform 1800 tests per hour and work more efficiently through its high-resolution touch screen, which delivers push-button operation. The Advia Centaur XP immunoassay system provides powerful productivity through its data archive feature, which reduces time spent on administrative tasks. The various Immulite products provide excellent performance through extensive menus that encompass routine and esoteric assays for faster clinical diagnostic information. Advia labcell provides a comprehensive menu of automation and pre-analytic components that route samples for optimal efficiency.

We are extremely pleased to assist Premier's network by delivering our complete portfolio of solutions, said John Nosenzo, senior vice president, North American Sales, Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics. This agreement demonstrates that Siemens is a provider of choice for leading healthcare professionals and organizations such as Premier. Siemens is committed to providing leaders in the healthcare industry with solutions that set new performance standards and optimize patient outcomes.
