Immunoassay Module Integrated on Platform with Clinical Chemistry

A new immunoassay module can be integrated with clinical chemistry testing on a single platform.

The latest addition to the cobas 8000 platform suitable for large volume labs is the cobas e 602 module. More...
It runs more than 80 different immunoassays--from high medical value tests for cardiac and infectious diseases to bone markers, rheumatoid arthritis, tumor markers, and tests for maternal care--with a throughput of 170 tests per hour.

The cobas 8000 modular analyzer series offer 19 different configurations and has many new design and process elements such as the module sample buffer in each module, independent transport and return lines, switch gates, and many more features optimizing sample routing to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.

In addition, the new cobas e 602 module uses the same operator interface, detection technologies and reagents as other cobas instruments, enabling standardization of results between different analyzers.

The cobas 8000 modular analyzer series is the newest member of Roche's (Basel, Switzerland) cobas modular platform family. It is designed to meet the needs of high volume laboratories with about 3 to 15 million tests per year to deliver high quality results quickly and efficiently from a single patient sample. The cobas 8000 compliments the cobas 6000 modular analyzer for medium-sized laboratories and the cobas 4000 systems for small workloads.

Roche offers seven additional configurations to the cobas 8000 modular analyzer series by combining the previously launched clinical chemistry modules with the immunoassay module for serum work area testing.

The new cobas e 602-immunoassay module is available in Europe as well as in all countries recognizing CE marking in the Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions.

With the launch of the high volume immunochemistry module, customers can consolidate clinical chemistry and immunochemistry testing in different ways into one single configuration. The cobas 8000 modular analyzer series offers 19 different configurations and includes many design and process elements such as the Module Sample Buffer in each module, independent transport and return lines, switch gates, and other features optimizing sample routing to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.

Roche is a leader in research-focused healthcare with combined strengths in diagnostics and pharmaceutics. The company is an important provider of in vitro diagnostics (IVD), tissue-based cancer diagnostics, and diabetes management.
