Siemens Healthineers and Novo Collaborate to Expand Access to Noninvasive Liver Testing

Because disease often progresses silently, many patients miss the window for reversal and present with fibrosis. A new collaboration now targets earlier, non‑invasive assessment and wider access to blood‑based testing.

Siemens Healthineers and Novo will work to raise disease awareness, support earlier assessment, and expand access to non‑invasive testing. The effort addresses persistent identification gaps and aims to make MASH evaluation more accessible and actionable. Liver health experts emphasize identifying disease before fibrosis and serious complications in at‑risk patients.

Central to the effort is the Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF) test, a non‑invasive blood test for liver assessment. ELF is the first and only test authorized in the United States to help assess risk of disease progression in patients with advanced fibrosis due to MASH and to support patient management decisions. It is widely available through national laboratory providers, is billed under Category 1 CPT code 81517, and its results are not impacted by body mass index.
