New Microtiter-Based Processing System Conserves Benchtop Space

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 25 Sep 2013
Despite boasting an exceptionally small footprint, a new rapid processing system for microtiter-based assays is compatible with diverse washing, dispensing, reading, and imaging systems.

The BioTek (Winooski, VT, USA) BioStack 4 Microplate Stacker provides walk-away automation for routine microplate-based processes including cell-based assays and other applications that require automated plate opening and closure.

The BioStack 4 can handle 24- to 1,536-well lidded and low-volume microplates. More...
Individual throughput needs are met by interchangeable 10-, 30-, or 50-plate stacking attachments. The instrument boasts an exceptionally small footprint that conserves valuable space on the benchtop and which may be housed within a biohazard hood.

The BioStack 4 is directly controlled through the built-in "Liquid Handling Control" software, or "Gen5 Data Analysis Software." An optional barcode scanner increases workflow efficiency while limiting potential user errors.
