Software Option Introduced for Tabletop Microscope

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 13 Aug 2009
A software option for the tabletop microscope has mouse-controlled zoom and can rotate the three-dimensional (3D) image. More...
It is able to record animations of image manipulations as AVI files enabling the 3D graphic information to be shared without the need for extra software.

The 3DView analysis package can produce, manipulate, and record 3D visualizations of a specimen and make comprehensive measurements of the 3D surface characteristics without the need for specimen tilt. Measurements include height, surface area, and roughness--all obtained using a section profile, with current industry-standard methods. Data (measurements, section profiles, and images) can be exported to other software packages for further analysis.

Hitachi High-Technologies Corp. (HHTC; Tokyo, Japan) introduced the software analysis package for its TM-1000 tabletop microscope. The simple-to-use, versatile tabletop microscope, equipped with 3-D measurement software, EDX elemental analysis (a technique for identifying the elemental composition of the specimen), and application-specific stages is suitable for microscopy facilities or quality control labs.

HHTC produces life science and information technologies, and device manufacturing equipment. Some of the major affiliate companies of Hitachi High-Technologies are in the United States, Europe, Brazil, and China.
