High-Throughput Robotic Workstation Purifies Nucleic Acid Samples

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 06 Jun 2011
A high-throughput robotic workstation, which purifies nucleic acid samples, processes up to 96 standard-volume samples simultaneously in less than one hour.

The process utilizes barcoded, prefilled trays with ready-to-use reagents. More...
Data management features include a direct link to a laboratory information management system (LIMS) and file sharing. Streamlined uninterrupted experimental workflows and start-to-finish data management are possible when the instrument is used in combination with the LightCycler 480 Real-Time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) System.

The MagNA Pure 96 system is a product of Roche Diagnostics Corp. (Indianapolis, IN, USA). The instrument purifies DNA, RNA, and viral nucleic acids from a wide variety of starting materials using magnetic glass particle technology. Preprogrammed software protocols are tailored to sample requirements and yield high-purity nucleic acids that are ideal for a broad range of downstream applications.

All MagNA Pure 96 disposables are nuclease free and made from material inert to chemical leaching, at either low or elevated temperatures, which could interfere with downstream applications.

Roche provides 1,000 µL disposable tips with aerosol filters for use by the processing head of the MagNA Pure 96 System.
