Multianalyte Quality Control Introduced for NAT Labs

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 27 Apr 2009
A liquid stable, unassayed, multianalyte, third party quality control is available for nucleic acid testing (NAT) labs.

The product, called AmpliTrol III, was designed for use with qualitative in vitro diagnostic procedures for the detection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Type 1 (HIV-1), Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) nucleic acids in human serum or plasma. More...
The new configuration of AmpliTrol III has 60-day open-vial stability when stored at 2-8 ºC. Routine use provides laboratories with the means to monitor assay performance and assure quality on an ongoing basis.

Introduced by Bio-Rad (Hercules, CA, USA), AmpliTrol III is a full process positive control used in the same manner as a patient specimen to monitor sample preparation, amplification, and detection procedures. It is compatible with many commercially available NAT systems, including the Roche (Basel, Switzerland) Cobas AmpliScreen HIV-1 v1.5, Roche AmpliScreen HBV, Roche AmpliScreen HCV v2.0, and Chiron (Emeryville, CA, USA) Procleix HIV-1/HCV assays.

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of life science clinical diagnostics and research products.
