IgG Assays Determine Serological Status to Measles/ Mumps Viruses

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 09 Aug 2011
Two new assays were developed for the semi-quantitative determination of antibodies to measles and mumps viruses.

The Liaison Measles Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and Liaison Mumps IgG assays use chemiluminescence immunoassay technology on the Liaison analyzer for the semiquantitative determination of IgG antibodies to measles and mumps viruses in human serum or plasma.

The introduction of these assays by DiaSorin (Vercelli, Italy) completes the company's Liaison Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella Zoster (MMRV) IgG panel of assays, which are performed on a single platform. More...
DiaSorin’s Liaison IgG assays are fully automated semiquantitative or quantitative serology assays, each having a time-to-first result of 35 minutes and a throughput of 90 results per hour.

The Liaison analyzer combines a flexible operating mode with a broad assay menu and is very efficient due to its long walk-away time. The possibility to run up to 15 different assays at a time provides everyday testing even for low numbers of samples. A throughput of up to 180 determinations per hour allows the instrument to cope easily with a large number of samples. It is easy to use due to its touch-screen monitor, clear software structure, and the Reagent Integral, which contains all assay-specific reagents.
