Search for Genetic Predictors of Lung Cancer

By Biotechdaily staff writers
Posted on 14 Feb 2003
According to an agreement with the US National Cancer Institute ; www.anvilinfo.com) will analyze NCI lung tumor databases in search of data that can be used to discover gene markers for lung cancer, diagnostics, and therapy. More...

AnVil will use its domain expertise and analysis and visualization services and technologies to explore the NCI gene expression data in order to predict which genes may be specifically associated with lung tumors or normal lung tissue. The findings will provide the NCI with information that will aid the search for new lung cancer targets and therapies. AnVil partners with life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare companies, enabling them to see and interpret multiple data sets in integrated views.

"We're very pleased to continue working with the National Cancer Institute database, from which we were able to derive very strong models for genetic predictors in recent work. We look forward to taking our predictive models to the next level as we continue to help further cancer research by generating more insightful data and analysis of the disease,” said Dr. Richard Gill, president and CEO of AnVil.

Routine Blood Count Ratio Linked to Future Alzheimer’s and Dementia Risk

Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias develop over years, making it difficult to identify at-risk patients before symptoms appear. Clinicians therefore need widely available laboratory markers that... Read more
