Celera Divests Animal Genomics Business

(Savage, MD, USA). In addition, MetaMorphix has received a subscription to the Celera Discovery System, providing access to Celera's livestock genomic databases. Celera has acquired a minority interest in MetaMorphix and is entitled to share future revenue generated from products developed by MetaMorphix based on Celera's livestock databases.

MetaMorphix has 13 products in development, based on three technology platforms: growth factors, genomics/proteomics, and immunopharmaceuticals. The company's products are designed to increase the growth rate and meat production of livestock, improve feed efficiency, reduce waste, and decrease reliance on antibiotics and hormones.
