Tissue Imaging Systems Empowered by New Dedicated Software Package

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 12 Jan 2012
A major microscope manufacture announced that combining their state-of-the-art imaging systems with a dedicated analytical software package would facilitate the quantitative analysis of cells, nuclei, and other cellular components.

Biotech researchers and other life scientists stand to benefit from the melding of the Visiopharm (Hoersholm, Denmark) Tissuemorph image analysis software package with the Olympus (Center Valley, PA, USA) line of microscopes and tissue imaging systems.

Tissuemorph provides a highly specialized tool facilitating key aspects of working with quantitative image analysis for cell population characterization and for detection and/or classification of cell nuclei, cytoplasm, or membranes.

The interface allows the users to control detection through simple manual control of sensitivity (positive and negative nuclei, and membrane), and size (positive/negative nuclei and cytoplasm). More...
For nuclei it is possible to create different levels of positivity using the manual control.

The knowledge acquired and decisions made by researchers are easily stored electronically as user-defined protocols. These electronic protocols can easily be loaded and executed by any authorized operator.
