Chromatographic System for the Large-Scale Removal of Albumin and IgG from Human Serum

Researchers interested in isolating proteins from the blood that are present in only low concentrations will benefit from a new method for removing albumin and IgG, which are present in the blood serum in great abundance.

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. More...
(Hercules, CA, USA) has issued a technical note that describes a method for large-scale removal of albumin and lgG from human serum using their proprietary BioLogic DuoFlow chromatography system.

This chromatography system offers flexibility with multiple system configurations, many optional upgrades, and common control software. Modular components allow researchers to design their own chromatography system to specifically meet both laboratory space and application requirements. As experimental requirements change, systems can be reconfigured and upgraded with increased functionality such as higher flow rates, sophisticated detection capabilities, pH monitoring, trace comparison, and buffer blending.

The recently released technical note describes how to use Bio-Rad's Affi-Gel Blue and Affi-Gel protein A media together with the BioLogic DuoFLow chromatography system for the highly specific and efficient large-scale removal of albumin and IgG from human serum.
