Sysmex America, Inc., is a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and information systems developer, has supplied LabCorp with hematology systems for their primary testing laboratories. Implementation of the systems has been completed.

The hematology systems purchased by LabCorp include Sysmex HST- Hematology Automation Systems comprised of XE-Series Automated Hematology Analyzers, Sysmex SP-1000 Automated Slidemaker/Stainers and Sysmex-distributed CellaVision DM96 Automated Digital Cell Morphology Systems. Sysmex WAM Decision Support Software for the Clinical Laboratory will bring rules-based intelligence to these automation systems by consolidating data from these multiple instruments and performing expert rules-based functions and results management.

The HST-N systems are linked to the AutoSorter II by Motoman, Inc., (West Carrollton, OH, USA). The HST-N systems will also utilize Sysmex's RU-10 Reagent Production System, specifically designed for the Commercial Reference Laboratory, which prepares some of the required analyzer reagents on site, on demand, to help balance inventory and reduce storage space requirements.

John Kershaw, president and CEO of Sysmex America, Inc., said, "We are honored to serve as LabCorp's strategic business partner in its endeavor to provide a new 'intelligent' diagnostic service offering. We trust our innovative automated solutions will provide an unparalleled level of optimization that streamlines operations while providing quality, connectivity and an enhanced service offering."
