Infectious Disease Diagnostics Redefined by Emerging Technologies

The diagnostics market for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis (TB), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human papilloma virus is expanding giving rise to commercial opportunities, especially in developing economies such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The demand for high-throughput automated diagnostic platforms and point-of-care (POC) testing devices is being driven by governments attempting to minimize healthcare expenditure, owing to economic and political pressures.
