A new blood gas analyzer combines revolutionary microelectronics with maintenance cartridge technology for a smaller, faster, and less expensive critical care analyzer.

The Stat Profile Prime blood gas analyzer uses MicroSensor Card technology, which contains biosensors for acidity (pH), partial CO2 (PCO2), partial O2 (PO2), sodium (Na), potassium (K), ionized calcium (iCa), chloride (Cl), glucose, lactate, and hematocrit. The MicroSensor Card is automatically calibrated and is always ready to deliver a full 10-test profile in just 60 seconds. Thanks to ZERØ maintenance technology— which consists of individual cartridges for biosensors, calibrators, and liquid quality control—and continuous electronic self-monitoring, each cartridge is maintenance-free, ready to use, and easily replaced in seconds.

MicroSensor cards can be replaced in less than half the time of older cartridge systems, optimizing the life of each cartridge, improving analyzer uptime, and eliminating the waste, downtime, and higher costs of combined calibrator/sensor cartridge systems, which can take more than an hour to calibrate and can remain unstable with drift, frequent recalibrations, and reduced throughput for even longer periods of time. Proprietary ClotBlock sample flow path technology protects the MicroSensor Card from blockages and prolonged downtime caused by blood clots. The Stat Profile Prime blood gas analyzer is a product of Nova Biomedical (Waltham, MA, USA).

“We at Nova Biomedical are extremely excited to launch the Stat Profile Prime platform with the Prime critical care system,” said Brad Bullen, BS, RCP, sales product line manager at Nova Biomedical. “Stat Profile Prime represents the latest critical care testing technology and further demonstrates Nova’s leadership and history of innovation. Our zero maintenance system allows its users to focus on what is important - patient care.”
