MEDLAB Middle East, held a week after Arab Health, continued to be the largest attended laboratory and IVD exhibition and conference in the world. Held from February 5-8, 2018, the annual laboratory meeting saw its second year as a stand-alone show and welcomed over 600 exhibitors and more than 25,000 attendees from 129+ countries.

MEDLAB is the flagship exhibition and congress of the MEDLAB Series portfolio, a collection of leading laboratory and diagnostics exhibitions and conferences worldwide, spanning across the Middle East, Asia, East/West Africa, Europe and the US. As the largest attended laboratory expo worldwide, MEDLAB stems from 15 years of growth alongside the MENA region's largest healthcare gathering, Arab Health.

MEDLAB Middle East held in Dubai, UAE, continued to expand in 2018 with the addition of two new halls and the capacity to showcase thousands of new products, equipment and services by the main players in the industry. Leading laboratory experts, scientists, researchers and clinicians converged at the three-day event to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of laboratory medicine and clinical research while companies showcased the latest innovations, products and cutting-edge technologies available in the IVD, medical laboratory and healthcare market.

At the heart of MEDLAB laboratory conference and exhibition lies the CME-accredited Congress featuring 17 CME-accredited conference tracks. Supported by the Cleveland Clinic, the MEDLAB conferences provide professionals with high-level CME credits. The MEDLAB Conferences cover a diverse range of subjects relating to laboratory management, microbiology, immunology, hematology, clinical chemistry and molecular diagnostics. With over 6,500 conference delegates in attendance from all over the world, the MEDLAB Congress is the ideal platform to come together and discover innovations in medical laboratory testing. MEDLAB Congress 2018 introduced new clinical tracks designed to enhance collaboration between laboratory professionals and clinicians. This will aid in accurate interpretation, quick reporting and diagnosis, therefore strengthening the laboratory’s ability to provide clinical decisions and improve the overall quality of service and care.

This year’s MEDLAB Middle East also featured the Obs-Gyne Exhibition, which provided a platform for over 2,500 obstetricians, gynecologists, fertility specialists and family physicians to gather alongside 60+ of the industry's leading manufacturers to meet, exchange knowledge, share best practices and ultimately improve the level of patient care provided. Some of the key topics of discussion at the Obs-Gyne Exhibition were postpartum hemorrhage, androgen disorders in adolescents, psychological and sexual aspects in female genital cancer, early prediction and prevention of pre-eclampsia, obesity in pregnancy, treatment options for infertile women with uterine fibroids, and monitoring and delivery of the growth of restricted fetus.

The Poster Zone at the event displayed the latest research from laboratorians worldwide, promoting knowledge sharing and networking amongst MEDLAB’s delegates, who discussed the latest research, findings and developments within the industry. The Workshop Zone featured workshops hosted by leading laboratory and diagnostic companies who provided a hands-on approach towards utilizing the latest testing methods, findings and technology. MEDLAB Middle East also welcomed dealers and distributors from across the region as well as representatives from hospitals, consultancies and governments who took the opportunity to meet, do business with exhibitors and learn from all professionals within the healthcare and medical laboratory marketplace.
