AACC 2012: An extended range horseradish peroxidase (HRP) microwell substrate was launched at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) show in Los Angeles (CA, USA), taking place from July 15-19, 2012.

A product of SurModics (Eden Prairie, MN, USA), the BioFX TMB extended range HRP microwell substrate (TMBX), when used in a quantitative assay, increases the assay's upper limit of quantization and maintains the detection limits and analytical sensitivity achieved with other TMB substrates. TMBX also improves the reproducibility of the assay through lower backgrounds and better control of assay timing.

TMBX is SurModic's slowest kinetic option of TMB substrates for extended dynamic range and improved reproducibility within. It is a colorimetric substrate for HRP detection in microwell applications. TMBX is a one-component substrate that requires no preparation prior to use.

The right substrate can make a substantial contribution to the overall sensitivity of an assay. SurModics offers a variety of colorimetric TMB substrates and complementary novel stop solutions, available in both bulk and custom dispenses.

SurModics' offers new surface modification technologies and in vitro diagnostic chemical components. Core offerings include surface modification coating technologies that impart lubricity, prohealing, and biocompatibility capabilities, and components for in vitro diagnostic tests and microarrays.
